Eye Veins – Removal Of Veins Beneath The Eye
Written by Dallas Vein Specialists on July 29, 2010
Prominent veins in the soft tissues under the eye are not an infrequent complaint. While rarely do they cause symptoms, these engorged bluish veins are cosmetic concerns to patient. The question arises as to how to treat them.
Injection therapy, i e. sclerotherapy, involves the use of strong chemicals that damage the inside wall of the veins. Once the chemical is injected control of the spread of the substance in the blood vessels of the face and head including the eye itself is not possible. Complications have been reported from such injections about the eye.
At Dallas Vein Specialists we favor removal of these bulging veins through small minimally invasive incisions that we term MICROPHLEBECTOMY. The cosmetic results are excellent with usually no visible scar or blemish.
